Animation Tech Demo – Facial Rig

This is the kind of professional show-reel that I would like to achieve. The facial movements are realistic and the UI seems easy and instinctive to use. I would be very interested to find out how the rig is made in order to create such a realistic character.

  • How much of the believably is down to the skin shaders and textures?
  • What kind of muscle/joint set up is needed?
  • Is this based mainly on joints or blendshapes or both?
  • Which software is used to create this?
